What this site is for
Georgia Sports Betting covers one state and one question. Georgia licenses no sportsbook, has rejected legalisation for eight straight years, and yet has a population that bets. We publish what Georgia law actually says about placing a wager, how each legalisation attempt died and at which procedural stage, and what the offshore books Georgians reach instead do and do not commit to in writing. Every figure carries the date it was recorded, because every figure in this market moves.
The reason a page like this has to exist is that the honest answer is uncomfortable and most coverage softens it. Georgia is routinely grouped with states described as grey markets. Its statute is not grey: O.C.G.A. 16-12-21 names a misdemeanour for the person making the bet, carrying up to 12 months and a fine of up to $1,000. A reader who has been told otherwise has been misinformed about their own exposure, and we would rather lose them at the top of the page than that.
How we work
The method is documentary and it is described in full in how we rate, weightings included. Short version: the lineup and the links come from our own operator card, the welcome terms come from a dated bonus source, the legal material comes from primary sources or named outlets, and where nothing is published we say so rather than estimating.
How we make money
Some links here are commercial. If you open an account through one, the operator may pay us a commission, and it costs you nothing extra. That arrangement pays for the site and it is disclosed at the foot of every page.
What it does not do is buy position. Rankings come from the published criteria, operators do not see reviews before publication, and an operator whose terms get worse falls. The clearest evidence we can offer is on the money page itself: the brand with the longest excluded-state list in our lineup is reviewed under a heading that says exactly that, and one brand's bonus code is withheld rather than printed because we could not vet it.
What we will not publish
- A withdrawal time nobody measured. There are no payout speeds on this site at all.
- An odds price we cannot date.
- A bonus figure or code we cannot attribute to a source with a date, which is why one brand on our lineup ships with no figure rather than a borrowed one.
- A claim that any operator is safe, guaranteed or risk-free, or that betting from Georgia is lawful.
- A forecast of what the 2027 session does, or a trade body's market estimate presented as a fact.
- Any method of appearing to be in another state. No virtual private networks, no location spoofing, no workarounds.
Responsible gambling
Everything here is written for adults of 21 or over who are betting money they can afford to lose. If that has stopped being true, our responsible gambling page sets out the account controls, the self-exclusion routes and the Georgia-specific contacts, and the free national helpline numbers are in the footer of every page.
